Ryan Kost is an investigative and narrative journalist based in NYC.

He is a reporter at New York Public Radio/Gothamist, where he covers jails, courts, prosecutors and public corruption. Previously he was an investigative reporter at Columbia Journalism Investigations and a staff writer at The San Francisco Chronicle and The Associated Press.

His investigation into how New York prosecutors handle wrongful conviction claims, published with New York Focus, won the New York News Publishers Association award for distinguished investigative reporting and was a finalist for the Livingston Awards.

His work has also appeared in The Marshall Project, The Boston Globe and elsewhere.
